Caught in a corner: why we we're suddenly missing?

If you’ve tried to visit the British Othello website recently, you might have felt like you were staring at the back of a milk carton.

We haven’t been abducted by aliens, and we didn't accidentally flip all our pieces to the opponent's colour. We simply found ourselves in the ultimate endgame squeeze: our premium website subscription with Wix expired. It turns out that, much like an Othello match, building a website is easy to learn but expensive to maintain. We were effectively cornered, and without the funds to pay the hosting fees, we had to make a tactical retreat.

Time for a Pivot

In the spirit of the game, we decided it was time to re-evaluate our strategy. We realized that being "premium" isn't nearly as important as being available. So, we’ve moved the entire operation to a new, permanent, and crucially free home on Google Sites.

It’s lean, it’s efficient, and best of all, it won’t disappear just because a credit card transaction didn't go through.

Come take a look at our new setup, there's more to be migrated over time, but we’re happy to be back, we’re stable, and we’re ready to control the board once again.
